The Winter Book Arrives

The 5th Thieves & Kings collected volume. . . The Winter Book

IT'S HERE!

The 5th Volume of Thieves & Kings arrived safe and sound this Friday afternoon. After hoops and hurdles (and 18 wheeler truck accidents), aplenty, a metric ton of trade paperbacks are now neatly stacked in rows upon rows in climate-controlled storage. I can sleep soundly once again!

I know this because, with heart in throat, I opened the foremost box and pulled out the topmost book, gleaming and crisp and fresh, and leafed through it to make sure there were no missing pages or broken graphics. And guess what? It all looks good! It all works. The Winter Book is officially here!

And I really do mean it about sleeping soundly. I was informed recently that when a bad dream actually wakes you up gasping in a cold sweat, the term for it is, 'Nightmare'. --There I'd be in the dream, looking over a new book, only to find a small printing error on the first page. Then a bigger error on the next page, and the next. With each successive page I turned, there would be an even more monstrous printing flaw, until in horror I'd recoil, seeing worms and hellish dream insects spilling from the pages as the book fell apart in my hands. Then came the bit about waking up in a cold sweat. (This is actually pretty typical for me when I am in the final stages of a big project where so many delicate elements are in the control of other people.) But Ha!! There were NO awful printing flaws! NO nasty dream bugs! The book is sweet and sharp and all is good. I can rest easy once more.

Phew!

And this also means that there might just be enough time for orders to ship out and make it in time for Christmas. It'll be tight, tight, tight, but not impossible. So if you are hoping to put a copy of the Winter Book under the tree this year, please visit the sales page to place an order as soon as you can.

And thanks to everybody for their patience!
