The Walking Mage Sits
&
The Test Strips. . .

Feb 1st, 2006

The Walking Mage webstrip having finished its first story arc, ringing in with 41 episodes, is going on a brief hiatus while I figure out what to do next. I might launch a new adventure with Quinton and Varkias, or perhaps begin a new web comics project altogether using a bunch of scripts I've been working on for a few years now. --The new project would feature an early incarnation of Heath/Trish Ringlet, and a more involved format than the Walking Mage strips, in a style similar to the normal comic book. (There would also be no imperative on my part to try to crack jokes every fourth panel!) We'll see what happens. . . Come back on the 9th of February to see what I've cooked up!

Here's a sample of something I've been tinkering with. . . I was asked a couple of weeks ago to do some strips to help promote the local Farm Market here in Wolfville. They ran in the local papers. Because I'd been fussing over different characters and new story concepts to do on the I Box website at the time, I figured this would be a perfect opportunity to test out some of my ideas. A lot of weird and fascinating dramas unfold around this town. Living in Wolfville is rather like, "Northern Exposure" meets "Undergrads". Ever since moving here I've been wanting to let Wolfville be my muse and do a series of strips on the subject. This would be one of the very few times I'd not be working on swords & sorcery fantasy fiction, so I'm a bit cautious about it. . . What do you think? Would you be interested in seeing more of these characters? (Without the over-done Farm Market sales-pitch, of course!)
